It all started around the eighties, led by the leader Pedro dos Santos Ambrósio. In 1985, Pedro Ambrósio and some residents founded the Associação Asa Norte-Bom Sucesso. In 1987, he founded the large community free fair, today the largest shopping center open on Sundays in Maranhão. In 1998, he founded the Maranhão do Sul Community Radio 87.9 Fantasy name alluding to the Movement's campaign for the creation of the State of Southern Maranhão. And in 2007, Rádio Maranhão do Sul was granted and authorized, and which currently plays a great community role in the city of Imperatriz. The objective of Associação Asa Norte Bom Sucesso is to be, through RADIO MARANHÃO DO SUL FM, a tool to promote economic, cultural and artistic development in the region, bringing news and information to citizens that can contribute to local development. In order for the main objective to be achieved, it is necessary for the community to participate in the actions generated by the Radio.
