How to perform Eid prayer according to the Hanafi school
The Hanafi school states that the worshiper begins with the intention in the heart and tongue, by saying: “I pray the Eid prayer for God Almighty.” Then he says the Ihram takbeer that is followed by praising God Almighty, and then says three takbirs, so that he raises his hands each time, and is silent. Between each of them there are three glorifications, and he seeks refuge with Allah, and he says in secret, then he reads Al-Fatihah, and another surah aloud, and it is desirable that Surat Al-A’la be, followed by bowing and prostrating.[2]

As for the second rak’ah, it begins with al-Fatihah, and another surah aloud, and it is desirable that it be Surat al-Gashiya, then three takbirs should be said. By raising the hands in each of them, and it is permissible to offer the takbeers to the recitation, and it is permissible to increase the takbeers up to sixteen. It is worth noting that remembering the takbeers after bowing compels one to go back, say the takbeer, and repeat the bowing without re-reading, and the Eid prayer is called by saying: “The prayer is inclusive.” [2]

How to perform the Eid prayer according to the Malikis and Hanbalis
The Maliki madhhab differs from the Hanafi madhhab in how to perform the Eid prayer in some details, including: the number of takbeers in the first rak’ah is seven with the Ihram takbeer, as for the second rak’ah, six takbeers with the takbeer of standing, as well as the number of takbeers for the Hanbalis, and it is before the reading with the permission of delay, The amount of silence between the takbeers until the worshipers takbeer.[2]

The Malikis said that it is makrooh to raise the hands when saying the takbeer, except for the takbeer of Ihram, and if the worshiper forgets one of the takbeers before bowing, he should recite it and repeat the reading. Leaving the takbeers with them does not invalidate the prayer.[2]

How to perform the Eid prayer according to Shafi’is
According to Shafi’is, the number of takbeers is seven in the first rak’ah without the takbeer of Ihram, and five in the second rak’ah, and it is before the recitation. Glory be to God in it, and both hands are raised in it, and they agreed with the Hanafi school of seeking refuge with Allah, opening the prayer, and speaking aloud in the recitation.[2]

It should be noted that forgetting the takbeers does not require the prostration of forgetfulness, and it is Sunnah to read Surat Q, Surat Al-Ala, or Surat Al-Kafirun in the first rak’ah after Surat Al-Fatihah, and to read Surat Al-Qamar, Surat Al-Gashiya, or Surat Al-Ikhlas in the second rak’ah.[2]
