The calculator is used to calculate the amount of ibuprofen or paracetamol to be given to a child in case of fever.
Ibuprofen is a drug intended for children older than 3 months and weighing more than 5 kg. It is used for pain, fever and inflammation accompanying, for example, teething.
A single dose of ibuprofen is 5 to 10 mg/kg body weight, with a maximum daily dose of 30 mg/kg body weight, divided into 3 to 4 single doses administered at intervals of 6 to 8 hours.
Paracetamol is a drug that can be used from birth. It is intended for analgesic and antipyretic use.
A single dose of paracetamol is 10 to 15 mg/kg of body weight. It can be repeated every 4-6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 60 mg/kg body weight.
