Communication for the deaf is still a challenge and has many barriers. One of them is receiving efficient hospital care, causing marginalization due to poor access to information. This evidences the lack of knowledge of the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) on the part of health workers, in addition to the unpreparedness to assist deaf patients.
Medmotion's objective is to act as a practical and accessible alternative for health care units, helping professionals to receive deaf people, even if they do not know Brazilian sign language.
The application was developed by Lara Fernandes Santos Ferreira, a student of the Computer Science course at IFMA Campus Caxias, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Luis Fernando Maia Santos Silva.
