Traditionally, this process has been either manual or partially computerized, often leading to delays, inconsistencies, and a lack of transparency. To address these challenges and bring about a technological transformation in the rural dairy sector, AASAN—a mobile-based milk collection system—was developed.

Designed specifically for Android-based tablets, AASAN aims to streamline the milk collection process, reduce dependency on bulky desktop infrastructure, and provide a smarter, more efficient solution for milk collection societies. It integrates seamlessly with existing dairy hardware such as milk analyzers and weighing scales, and connects to a central portal that manages rates, policies, and other configurations in real time. Built with multi-lingual support and an intuitive user interface, AASAN ensures ease of use for rural users who may have limited experience with technology.

Despite the digital revolution in many parts of India, the dairy collection process in villages continues to rely on outdated systems. Several pain points are commonly observed:

Manual Entries: Milk quantity, quality, and farmer details are often written manually in ledgers, increasing the chances of human error and data manipulation.

Lack of Transparency: Farmers are sometimes unaware of the calculations or the basis of pricing, leading to distrust and disputes.

Heavy Infrastructure: When computerized, most societies use bulky desktop setups with printers and other peripherals, which are not only expensive but also require dedicated wiring and maintenance.

Hardware Compatibility: Integrating external devices like milk analyzers and weighing scales with desktop systems often leads to configuration issues and technical downtime.

Language Barriers: Most software solutions are developed in English, making it difficult for rural users to understand and operate them.
