This Surah is a'madani' Surah, meaning it was revealed in Madinah. It has 286 verses. It is also the Holy Qur'an's longest Surah.
The Holy Prophet (S) said that whoever recites the first four verses of Surah al-Baqarah, accompanied by the 'ayatul kursi,' along with the last three verses of this Surah on a daily basis will have his life, property, and family protected, and no evil will befall them. Shaitan will not approach him, nor will he be among those who forget Allah (S.w.T.).

Shaytan will not enter a house where Surah Baqarah is recited. "Do not turn your houses into graves," the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, according to Abu Hurayrah (RA). Shaytan never enters a house where the Surah Al-Baqarah is recited." (Tirmidhi)
Surah al Baqarah protects the person who recites it from the evil eye, witchcraft, and evil whispers, as well as bringing immense barakah and overall peace into one's life.
