Côte d'Ivoire has had several constitutional texts during its history, the aim of which was, by virtue of the theory of the hierarchy of norms, to constitute the fundamental law, the one which has authority over all other legal texts of the country. The various Ivorian constitutions have organized the institutions of Côte d'Ivoire at various times in its modern history.

These documents defined the type of organized society in the country, the symbols that distinguish the country from other countries, such as the flag, the national anthem, the national currency or currency, the form of the state (federal or unitary ), the political system, the voting system at national and provincial level, and the responsibility and functioning of justice and institutions.

The constitutional text currently in force in Côte d'Ivoire is the Constitution of November 8, 2016 [archive] which founds the Third Republic, amended in March 2020. It was approved by the people in a referendum in 2016 and amended by parliamentary vote in 2020.
