The Malaga Metro is the light rail network of the Spanish city of Malaga, which consists of two lines currently in service, and which connects different points of the city interacting with the rest of the transport network of the Consortium of Metropolitan Transport of the Area from Malaga.

The lines use CAF Urbos 3 type light rail units with capacity for 202 passengers (145 standing and 57 seats). The maximum speed reached by these units is 70 km / h, the track gauge is 1435 mm (standard gauge) and electrified at 750 Vdc, allowing the entire network to be connected. The vehicles are 31 m long and 2.65 m wide.

The network is managed by the Metro Málaga concessionaire of which FCC-Globalvía, the Junta de Andalucía Public Works Agency (AOPJA), Sando, Cajamar, Constructora Vera, Cointer and Comsa Emte are part, with a share capital of 136.5 million of euros.

Despite the fact that the initial contract was awarded for a total cost of 403 million euros, the extra cost of the construction will eventually bring the figure to an amount of 870 million euros, more than double what was budgeted.
