The President of the Government is the head of the Spanish Government, who is responsible for directing the action of the executive and coordinating the functions of the other members of the same, as established by the Constitution. His investiture is carried out in the Congress of Deputies, the lower house of the Cortes Generales, and is appointed by the king, before whom he solemnly takes an oath or promise.

The current president of the Government of Spain is Pedro Sánchez and the head of state is King Felipe VI.
