One of the great days of Buddhism is Vesak Trisuci Day, which is the biggest and most meaningful holiday for Buddhists.
'Vesak' comes from Pali 'Vesakha' or in Sanskrit it is called 'Vaisakha'. 'Vesakha' is taken from the moon in the Buddhist calendar which usually falls on the May calendar.
So called because Vesak commemorates the Three Significant Events which all took place in the month of Vesakha and at the same time that was right at the full moon.
