Daily recitation of the Quran is strongly encouraged in Islam, as reflected in both the Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Qur’an is not merely to be read — it is to be lived, reflected upon, and embodied in every action, word, and intention.

Quranic Guidance on Daily Recitation

The Quran urges believers to read and reflect upon its verses. The first revealed verse was:

"IQRA’ bismi rab bikal lazee khalaq"
("Read! In the name of your Lord who created…") — Surah Al-Alaq (96:1)

Other verses also stress the importance of recitation:

“Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book…....” — Surah Al-Ankabut (29:45)

“And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there anyone who will mind?” — Surah Al-Qamar (54:17)

Prophetic and Masoomeen Traditions

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
"The most superior among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said:
“Learn the Quran, for it is the spring of the hearts. Seek cure with its light. It is the best speech and the most clear explanation.” (Nahjul Balagha)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ هُوَ حَبْلُ اللَّهِ وَ هُوَ النُّورُ الْمُبِينُ وَ الشَّفَاءُ النَّافِعُ فَاقْرَوُوْهُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ يُؤْجِرُكُمْ عَلَى تِلاوَتِهِ لِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ

The Masoomeen (the infallible Imams) themselves regularly recited the Quran and have taught its significance as a source of constant guidance and spiritual growth.

About IQRA - Masoomeen Quran Daily Recitation Group (MQDRG)

The Masoomeen Quran Daily Recitation Group was formed on 20th Mahe Ramadhan 1440 A.H i.e 25th May 2019 with just few family members and friends to nurture the habit of daily Quran recitation among its members. Alhamdolillah, our 2500+ members of Ladies and Gents have recited 6692 Qurans till now through various Whatsapp Groups.

By the grace of Almighty Allah and 14 Masoomeen we are shifting to the App based system for easy access and wider reach.

Our App IQRA - MQDRG helps each individual member by keeping a record of their allocation/allotment, and also tracks their recitation status—making it very easy to monitor which Ayats have been recited, which are pending, and the status of Wajib Sajdah Ayats. This not only supports thier progress but also keeps them organized, disciplined and motivated.
