Sheikh Mustafa Ismail was born on June 17, 1905 in the village of Mit Ghazal, Gharbia Governorate.

He completed recitation of the Qur’an and recited the ten recitations at the hands of Sheikh Idris Fakher at the age of 16. He was chosen as part of the official delegation during his visit to Jerusalem in 1977.
He died on December 22, 1978, at the age of seventy-three
