Walisongo was known as the biggest spreader of Islam on Java in the 14th century. The Walisongo live in three important areas of the northern coast of Java, namely Surabaya-Gresik-Tuban-Lamongan in the province of East Java, while Demak, Kudus, and Muria are in the provinces of Central Java, and Cirebon is in the province of West Java.
These songo guardians preach in every part of the archipelago of this country by inviting people to enter Islam without any compulsion at all. In each da'wah every Sunan (nickname walisongo) has their own territory, and besides that there are also some relics that are evidence of their role in the spread of Islam in this country.
