NIMCURE is a collaborative project between Co-Creation Hub and Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR). Our goal is to assess the extent to which digital health can impact adherence to Tuberculosis (TB) treatment.

Nimcure is a digital care tool that promotes adherence to Tuberculosis treatment using the Video Observe Therapy (VOT) system. With Nimcure, patients and caregivers can better manage the treatment process remotely and on the go.

The Patient and Caregiver carry out Video Observe Therapy (which is a variant of Direct Observed Therapy - DOT)
DOT is the standard of TB treatment across the world. Patients have to be physically present with their caregivers to take their drugs in the DOT system.
Patients can record videos of themselves taking their dosage while their caregivers can review and approve or decline remotely. VOT eliminates issues like transportation cost, Stress of travel, and stigma.

The system also has other features that promote adherence like dosage reminders, treatment progress, patient appointments, gamification, feedbacks etc.
