Ship Radar Endorsement.

FCC Element 8 is a written exam that tests the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of ship radar, navigation, and radio communication specifically for the use of the Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP).

The Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP) is required for all personnel operating certain types of marine radios, including VHF, MF/HF radios, and radar, on vessels that are required to carry a marine radio. The MROP certifies that the holder has the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of radio communication and ship radar and navigation equipment to operate, maintain, and repair radio equipment within the authorized frequency range.
