However, you don't need to worry, you can treat the leafhoppers with natural pesticides. The plant hopper is the general term for a plant-sucking insect that has a small body size. Apart from being direct eaters, leafhoppers are also a vector for the transmission of a number of plant diseases from the viral group.

Planthopper has a high adaptability to its environmental conditions. In fact, a type of planthopper is able to produce offspring that are resistant to certain conditions. The continuous use of one type of variety can be one of the factors causing the plant hopper pest explosion. For this reason, rotation of plants and varieties is necessary to break the life chain of leafhoppers. In addition, thinning at spacing can also reduce the attack of these pests.

In carrying out agricultural activities, the balance of the ecosystem and the food chain must be maintained. The existence of natural planthopper predators such as spiders, beetles, water-surface ladybugs and long-horned grasshoppers can control pest populations. For that, we need to protect the habitat of these predators, which are usually in shrubs and some weeds.

If technical culture control and biological control are not able to overcome pest attacks, we can carry out mechanical control, namely by using light traps at night. The last alternative when pest attacks have exceeded the economic threshold is to control using natural pesticides.

To prevent leafhoppers, materials that are often used are mahogany seeds, soursop seeds or leaves. In this material there are repellents (insect repellents) and antifeedants (appetite inhibitors).
