Chemical vegetation control (application of plant protection products) on the ÖBB tracks is currently carried out using spray trains and small spray devices (rail-mounted and two-way vehicles as well as hand- and back-carried devices). The application of plant protection products must be carried out by a competent person and documented in the form of spray protocols.

The CVK application is a mobile solution for data collection (spraying records) in chemical vegetation control with small sprayers, which can be used on site during the application of crop protection products and which completely replaces the previous forms. In the application, locations as well as tracks and switches can be selected where the pesticides will be applied. A lot of data, such as devices and pesticide combinations, is already stored and assigned to a location. The application also contains additional information that is helpful for carrying out chemical vegetation control. This includes safety data sheets for the products, mixing tables, spraying bans in affected areas as well as information about certain problem plants and their control options.

The application can only be used by previously registered and activated users. This includes knowledgeable employees who carry out chemical vegetation control as well as the people responsible for coordinating the measures.

The mobile recording of spray protocols using CVK increases the quality of the data, minimizes sources of errors and reduces the time required for spray protocol management.

The data is transferred to the server promptly and can therefore be viewed and checked immediately after the treatment. This is relevant, for example. for various inquiries that can be quickly checked and clarified.

The app can be used on all small spray devices used by ÖBB.
