EFLORAUAM allows taking photos of plants, identifying them and knowing their botanical characteristics.
The eFloraUAM mobile application has been developed by researchers and students of the Autonomous University of Madrid and has been funded in the INNOVA 2020-21 call of this University, as well as with funds from the Department of Biology and the Vice-Rector's Office for Campus and Sustainability.
Our main mission is to know and conserve the plants in our environment.
The application is part of the citizen science project Participatory virtual flora of the UAM and surroundings (C_019.20_INN). Its objective is to create a collaborative virtual floristic catalog of the Cantoblanco campus environment (UAM) based on photographs of the users that allows them to become familiar with botanical concepts and characters relevant to the identification of species. Any user will be able to see the photographs and labels of the rest of the users, while registered users will be able to upload their own photographs and labels. A team of botanists will supervise the identifications and labels and correct those that are necessary.
