This solution developed by DOIT Solutions LTD (KE) facilitates sales transactions through a Microsoft backend and an Android mobile front end. The system supports both B2B and B2C models and offers several features that provide a competitive advantage to businesses.
Technical Overview of Solution: The system architecture is cloud-based, leveraging Microsoft Azure's security and infrastructure elasticity to deploy to any business size.
Secure Access (Authentication): The system leverages Microsoft Entra security infrastructure for secure access. Logging on to the backend requires user access granted through Microsoft Entra, and any email account can be used to sign up for access. The mobile application takes a similar sign-up approach.
Application Access (Authorization): Access to the application is based on RBAC (Role-Based Application Access). The system implements segregation of duties (SOD) by configuring each screen with a role. Access for mobile application is open for shopper profile users, while salesperson profile users must undergo an internal governance/recruitment process.
RAG GenAI enabled help system: The system's in-built help system in the mobile application provides immediate responses through Gen AI capability, grounded on system documentation. If the user is not satisfied with the response, the system escalates the query to support personnel.
MPESA Daraja Payment Integration: The system offers three payment options: Cash, Credit Card (work in progress), and Mobile Money Payment. The mobile payment option deployed is Safaricom’s Lipa Na MPESA API on Daraja infrastructure.
SMS Integration: The system has three optional SMS configurations for Order Confirmation, Order shipment, and Order Delivery. The current integration is with a Kenyan-based company called Nitext.
Fast Synchronization: Data synchronization between the backend is fast, based on incremental updates approach.
Common Entity and User Gateway: For the default public configuration, all entity and user sign-ups are managed on a single gateway.
Multi-country, currency, and lingual support: The system is designed with globalization in consideration, supporting multiple currencies and languages.
Scalable cloud infrastructure: Resource allocation can be adjusted based on business needs with Microsoft Azure’s scaling and management capabilities.
Business Process Features: The system is modularized for B2B integration scenarios, allowing for distribution partnerships, agency partnerships for consumer insights, and B2C retail/consumer ordering.
Self-service sign-up process: The sign-up process is straightforward, leveraging Microsoft Azure's standard screen flow logic.
Salesperson profile gatekeeping process: Salesperson profiles require an onboarding governance process, including internal recruitment steps.
Multi-level organization support: The system supports hierarchical organization, with clients at the top, followed by client companies, associated customers, and products.
Message broadcast capability: The system can push messages to all entity end users or specific groups organized by Organization Sales profile.
SMS Service: The system has an optional configurable option to send SMS text messages for order statuses.
Payment Options: Available customer payment options include Cash and Mobile Money Payment (MPESA). Credit card payment option is work in progress.
Mobile Money (MPESA) Till assignment: The system allows configuration of multiple tills for each client company, easing payment reconciliation process.
Product Management: A product in the system can be configured further into sale items to handle different scenarios ranging from pack configuration to promotion management.
Customer onboarding: A new customer can be onboarded through direct creation, self-registration as a shopper, or salesperson recruitment.
Promotion Management: Promotions target specific customer/consumer audiences, with mechanisms to define promotions and apply price rules.
