The beautiful and untouched landscape is the absolute protagonist in Val d'Orcia (UNESCO's Mankind Heritage Site since 2004). For centuries, painters have been deeply inspired by these gently rolling hills, with their changing colors in the seasons, patchwork of wheat, corn and sunflowers fields, scattered farmhouses and dirt roads lined with cypress trees. Val d'Orcia remains one of the most photographed and filmed areas of the world. The best time to visit and photograph this area is from March to June. However, any time of the year is worthy of a visit. You really have to come and see with your eyes, so turn your GPS on, take your camera, and enjoy.
