The Blank Bergamo Contemporary Art is a cultural association founded in 2010 with the aim of spreading and widening passion and curiosity for contemporary art in the Bergamo area. The Blank, literally "an empty space to fill", aims to be a meeting place among the different realities of Bergamo, a network that coordinates initiatives between public and private, finalizing its activities to promotion and appreciation of contemporary art through connections among people, organizations and associations, and promotion of public and private institutions dealing with contemporary art in Bergamo.

The Blank association's activities are primarily concentrated in project and implementation of ARTDATE, the days of contemporary art in Bergamo organized every year by The Blank with openings, performances, meetings and conferences at The Blank members' venues, visits to artists' studios, tours of special architectures and places, visits to private collections of contemporary art.

Since 2013, during the year The Blank organizes at its headquarters in Via Quarenghi 50, Bergamo, Breakfast at Residency and The Blank Kitchen, series of dinners in which the artist cooks a special menu for guests and presents his work.

In 2011, The Blank activates the artist in residence program: The Blank Residency for structuring different projects that offer hospitality and space to Italian and foreign artists and theorists of contemporary art. The first project of The Blank Residency was in 2012 The Blank Artist in Residence - Fondazione Banca Popolare di Bergamo, with the collaboration of Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti, GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and the support of Fondazione Banca Popolare di Bergamo. In 2013 The Blank develops also the Meta-residency project and Project Proposal Residency, an open call residency project.

The Blank launched in January 2013 the new project Art Passport, a passport of art where to collect the artists' stamps.
The Blank presented the project in 2013 at BAF Bergamo Art Fair and Mia Fair in Milan.
During ARTDATE 2013 it has been possible to enrich the Art Passport by The Blank with over thirty specially made artists' stamps.
