The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Red Cross, which ensures the representativeness and democratic participation of all its members, governing bodies and management. The will of the General Assembly, expressed by most of its components, defines the destiny and performance of the Institution.

Among others are functions of the General Assembly to define the general policy of the Institution, to guarantee the unity and solidarity of the Red Cross throughout the national territory and to mark the objectives to be fulfilled in the period between sessions of the General Assembly.

Red Cross facilitates that both partners, as well as volunteers, feel part of the Institution, and assume their responsibility to contribute to its development and strengthening.

In this way, members of the Red Cross can participate actively in decision-making through access to government bodies and advice and control of the institution, thus becoming generators of initiatives and decisions.
