To get a blue portal pistol, you need to craft it. Requires Nether Star, which is difficult to obtain in Survival Mode.
Once you create the blue portal cannon, you can shoot the blue portal, then you will get orange to shoot the orange portal, you can also crouch to switch weapons. Go to the portal to teleport. Use the portal cannon to quickly escape from dangers, teleport to hard-to-reach places and just have fun.
