konkret is Germany's oldest left-wing magazine. Re-established in October 1974, it was originally published by Hermann L. Gremliza. Since 2020, Friederike Gremliza has been the editor-in-chief. To this day, konkret stands for the rejection of war, superstition (including Christian superstition), capitalism, Nazism, fascism, racism, and antisemitism.
konkret has remained open to virtually every rebellious movement, and none have aligned themselves with it—not the roaming hashish rebels, not the Maoist groups, not the Young Socialists, not the Greens, not the climate movement, and not queer feminism.
Since 1990, konkret has focused particularly on the consequences of German reunification, consequences that are still felt today: the rise of nationalism, antisemitism, and racism, as well as the increase in neo-Nazi violence.
