Kali or Kalika is a Hindu goddess. Her other name is Shyama or Adyashakti. Mainly Shakta community worships Kali. According to Tantra, Kali is the first of the ten chief Tantric goddesses known as Dasamahavidya. According to Shakta, Kali is the original cause of the creation of the universe. Worship of the mother form of Kali is especially popular in Bengali Hindu society.
