M. Auezov - master of human science

Auezov’s childhood passed in a nomadic village. Much of what he saw and observed during these years was later reflected in his works. In 1915, Mukhtar Auezov entered the teacher’s seminary, here he met with interest in the works of Russian, Eastern and European writers, and began to seriously try his hand at literature. In 1917, Auezov wrote, based on a folk legend, the play “Enlik Kebek”, in which love tragedy was shown with great revealing force, a strong protest was expressed against arbitrariness and cruelty, and moral oppression. The first stories of Auezov (for example, "Orphan's share"), distinguished by their psychologism, expressive descriptions of everyday life and customs, become a noticeable phenomenon in Kazakh realistic prose. In 1923, Auezov entered the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) University in the philological department, and after graduating from it in 1928, went to graduate school in Eastern folklore at the Central Asian State University in Tashkent. He works hard and fruitfully, successfully combining artistic creativity with scientific and pedagogical work.
