Since January 1st, 2021, an electronic patient file (ePA) from BKK Salzgitter has been available to you as an insured person free of charge. You can manage your health data there securely for life on a voluntary basis. You as the insured person have this
sole data sovereignty and can determine whether and who should have access to your file and for how long.
Often you have to go to the doctor or even different doctors for every little thing and are examined twice or triple. This usually creates a lot of paperwork. It could be so much simpler. With the electronic patient file, known
under the abbreviation “ePA”. You can easily apply for the ePA through your health insurance company. It is the personal digital storage location for your health data, like a safe for which only you have the key and can decide which data you want
put it in and want to share.
With your approval, doctors can store diagnoses, findings or medication plans for you in the ePA. And there will be many more in the future
more functions planned. If a doctor needs your findings or documents, he or she will first need the appropriate key, i.e. explicit approval from you. Of course, you don't always have to carry a safe with you, but you can easily transfer your data online and digitally.
Unnecessary visits to the doctor are now a thing of the past. This makes your life much easier and at the same time relieves the burden on those involved in the healthcare system! You always keep track of your health data - and have your medication plan quickly at hand. With the ePA you can prevent double examinations and save yourself and the doctors a lot of time and stress.

Security
– As a statutory health insurance company, we ensure the best possible protection of your health data. To ensure that only you or people authorized by you have access to your ePA, we will securely identify you once. To do this, use one of the following options:
- Activation code: We will identify you at one of our offices and give you an activation code.
- POSTIDENT: Choose from identification at the post office, via video chat or with your electronic ID card.
- Selfie-Ident: Use the identification via the Nect app.
- Health card (eGK): Use your eGK including the associated PIN.

Further development
The app is continually being developed in accordance with legal requirements.
