If you want someone else (your child or your customer) to be able to use your tablet, but not change your settings, you can hide all the apps that you do not want him to see. You can hide the settings, the camera, the phone etc. It also locks down the notification bar and stops him from changing contacts etc.

If you hide all the apps and leave only one app, your device can be used like a kiosk device.

Even if you do not hide apps or password protect the settings area, it is still a wonderful android launcher with many features and customizations; you can drag and drop apps from the app drawer to the main screen, change icon sizes, animation speed etc.
