Natura Jenensis is THE app for the nature experience region around Jena - it creates a connection between analogue and digital perception in the midst of nature. Our landscapes have been shaped by changes over millions of years. Plants and animals become timeless and can "resurrect" at any time. Using augmented reality, 3D models and 360° panoramas, you can travel back in time or make the invisible visible. In order to understand "today", one must know about "yesterday".

The nature experience region natura jenensis offers all nature and history lovers a unique nature experience. On a total of four new adventure trails in and around Jena, you can learn more about nature, the climate or local history at numerous stations. Smart Ux accompanies you on all paths with an audio guide and provides easy-to-understand information about local peculiarities. The app can also be used to call up in-depth knowledge, so that even particularly inquisitive foxes get their money's worth.

The app offers a unique connection between the real and the virtual world. This becomes particularly clear at the many digital stations with, for example, augmented reality objects. So not only the clever Ux speak, but also Napoleon or Emperor Otto III. life-size to you and wild animals such as foxes, lynxes and wild boars or dinosaurs can be admired up close.

Another highlight of the app are the 360° panoramas. They enable a "360° view" into other times. What did it look like in the Triassic or Ice Age? Or how has man changed the local mountain in the last 1000 years? When people's imagination reaches its limits, such digital panoramas can expand horizons and thus provide a change of perspective. Is the here and now really that imperishable?

The app will not only inspire enthusiasm on a school trip, it also offers environmental education in an entertaining and interesting way for families and hiking groups and encourages reflection and reflected action.

The app can be used to experience the following adventure trails in the natura Jenesis:
* “Trixi Trias” dinosaur trail on the Jenzig
* "Schlauer Ux" forest trail in the Jena forest
* Path of the Ottonians on the local mountain near Ziegenhain
* Napoleon path on the wind bulb

The free app can be loaded as a basic version, for use on the individual paths the respective download is required (also free of charge).

Natura Jenensis is a project of the city forest of the Municipal Service Jena (KSJ), in cooperation with JenaKultur and many other regional actors. The project was financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the city of Jena and supporters from the region.
