Known and appreciated for its refinement, Lebanese cuisine is very old, dating back to pre-biblical times and combines European cuisine with exotic oriental ingredients.
There is even a model of comparison for hospitality among the Arabs - Hatim Tayy. It is said that he, once receiving an unexpected guest, because he had nothing else to offer, sacrificed his own camel (a great sacrifice for a Bedouin) to feed his guest. To characterize someone as very generous, he is said to be "more generous than Hatim Tayy."
In Arabic cuisine, not even the simplest dish has the same taste as dishes cooked in other parts of the world, although they have the same name. The atmosphere at the table is very warm and welcoming. If you are invited to such a table, it would be good to taste everything on the table. A refusal is considered by the host an insult to his qualities as a cook. In summer, when you arrive at their house, you are offered something cold with ice and in winter a hot tea. The fruits are placed on the tray and after choosing a fruit, the host cuts it or peels it and serves it to you. Then serve hazelnuts, sweets and coffee.
