The costs of treatment continues to limit the access of care especially by the poor and more people are pushed further into poverty as a result of costly unplanned health care emergencies.

Afya-plan is a dedicated health savings platform (wallet) that looks into solving these problems by empowering members to save in groups, pool resources and be able to afford health care services that would have otherwise been too expensive for individuals, leveraging heavily on such groups to empower women, households in rural and urban slums with financial tools and health information to improve outcomes and the overall health of the community.
