It all started on November 18, 1949. The Capuchin friars of the Santo Antonio Church, located in Vila Alpina, in Santo André, founded Educandário Santo Antonio, which in principle could only function as a school for the formation of priests.
However, the institution quickly started to count on the old primary for children in the community. Thus, Mrs. Maria Delphina de Carvalho Neves, then Director of the school, was tasked with continuing the work on her own, but at another address, since the church could no longer administer the school.
Dona Maria managed to keep Educandário alive and successfully. He was subsequently inherited by his granddaughter, who in 1982 handed him over to the current administration.
