Tarun, Preeti's son, and his wife Rati think Preeti is the reason for all of their troubles and throw her out of the house. That is when Preeti's daughter, Juhi, brings Preeti to her home. Juhi's mother-in-law, Kusum, and Preeti become best friends. Preeti wishes to earn self-respect by working as a wedding planner.
On the other side, KT, who appears happy, hides a deep wound within. When Chanda Rathore, a prospective bride for KT, insults him for his past and not working anymore, just because he rejected her, KT's uncle Sushant motivates him to work again.
He meets Preeti at a café, where he learns she is looking for a job. He offers her to approach his mother, who runs an NGO for distressed women, but Preeti instead confronts KT. He offers a business partnership to Preeti, which she initially denies. She agrees when KT takes a stand for her before a wretched client.
Preeti and KT face many issues in the initial days of their business, like their presentation being stolen by their rival Chanda Rathod, who is also Rati's boss, Preeti being subjected to shadeism her skin tone. All these issues lead to Preeti and KT developing a bond of friendship, trust, and respect.
Tarun puts forth a challenge before Preeti where, in 25 days, she will have to prove herself capable of becoming a businesswoman, and if she fails, she will have to come back and look after his house. With KT's help, she wins and receives an offer from Bua Sa and Fufa Sa to organize their 50th wedding anniversary in their village.
In the village, the family members misunderstand Preeti and KT's relationship, which leads to Preeti losing her self-respect. Preeti ends her partnership with KT after finishing a pre-committed event with a mysterious client in a fit of rage. After an eye-opening confrontation with Kusum, Preeti realizes her mistake. She tries to apologize to KT, where he opens up about his past to her.
On the day of the wedding event, the mysterious client turns out to be KT's ex-wife, Nandini. To get his revenge on Nandini, KT marries Preeti. Preeti willingly marries KT because she knows that if she doesn't stand by him, he will collapse with the pain that Nandini's return has caused. Preeti promises herself to stand by KT.
After their marriage, KT becomes a different person. Preeti feels she has come in between KT and Nandini and tries to reunite them. While Preeti realizes her love for KT, he returns to his usual happy self because of her efforts. Soon Preeti realizes Nandini has not changed and works with KT to find out Nandini's motive.
On the day of Makar Sankranti, Nandini discloses Arjun is an orphan and reveals that she has returned to get her revenge on KT because her lover and KT's best friend, Ravi, committed suicide out of guilt for ruining KT's marriage. KT is caught in a fire but is saved by Preeti. Nandini is arrested but vows to return. Tarun and Arjun apologize to Preeti for mistreating her, and they reunite with KT and the rest of the family.
Kusum breaks ties with Preeti when Neel denies having any feelings for Priyanka and becomes engaged to Shika. Neel tells KT and Preeti that Kushaala pressured him to marry as they went through a business crisis. Preeti and KT arrange the money through Shaadi Mubarak..
