The Corpse Guide is a series of steps or procedures carried out to prepare, manage and handle a person's body after death until the burial process.
This guide covers aspects of a religious, social and legal nature.
In general, corpse guidance includes the following stages:
1. Cleansing the body: In Islam, the body will be cleaned with holy water (wudhu or tayammum) and shrouded in a white cloth.
2. Funeral Prayer (For Muslims): After the body is washed and shrouded, the funeral prayer is performed. This is a prayer to ask for forgiveness and mercy for the deceased. This funeral prayer is usually performed in a mosque or funeral home.
2. Burial of the body: The body is then taken to the burial place, where the burial procession takes place. There is a special prayer that is recited when the body is buried. Done with the body position facing the Qibla.
3. Pray and Send Prayers: After the burial, family and relatives often pray for the soul of the deceased, in the hope that they will find a good place with God.
4. Mourning Period: After the body is buried, the family usually goes through a mourning period to remember the person who has died and pray for him.
