SaltCity is the students ministry of Calvary Charismatic Centre. We’re a dynamic students movement that exists to reach out to tertiary students to equip them to understand their purpose in life and what God has called them to do.
What ministry are we building?
A family driven ministry.
A ministry where Christ is our focus and people/souls are our priority. No segregation.
The agenda of God is our drive!
A Family-oriented ministry is built on communities in order to provide a sense of belonging, In order to reach our goal of being a family-oriented ministry, we need to go wide and deep.
To be able to attain our goal of going WIDE, we need to engage in SPLASH ( Show People Love And Share Him) programs such as Outreaches ( on-campus, off-campus) SaltCity Grab, etc.
Furthermore, to be able to go DEEP, there is the need for the D-12 Concept (LIFE GROUP). Life groups are small groups made up of 12 members with a leader that will meet regularly. Eg. If there are 60 people, there would be 5 life groups with 5 life group co-ordinators.
Life group co-ordinators/ leaders would be disciple through an intensive, discipleship program known as EVOLVE.
Life groups are not just a program in church but they are the church itself. Just like a human body, if your cells ( life groups) are healthy, the body ( church) is healthy. In a personality- driven church, if the personality isn’t there, the church cannot survive. But in a purpose-driven church, the church runs with or without a personality.
In Exodus 18, Moses was doing all the work and was playing all the roles and was worked out. His father-in-law, Jethro, advised Moses to divide the people into small groups. In the New Testament, the church met in homes and temple courts ( Acts 5:42)
The church must grow larger through services and smaller through fellowship at the same time. The purpose of life groups is for fellowship and to meet the people’s needs.
