Singlish is an unofficial term for Singaporean English which is an English-based creole or patois language spoken in Singapore by the locals.

The vocabulary of Singlish consists of words originating from English, Malay, Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Tamil and to a lesser extent various other European, Indic and Sinitic languages. While its continued use is widely frowned upon by the Singaporean authorities, it is widely and persistently used by Singaporeans.

Most of the usage of Singlish vocabulary is very much context and situational based, so this app is created to define or explain the Singlish terms and phrases to help foreigners and interested parties alike to get to know the very colorful, but often times, seemingly incomprehensible Singaporeans and their very special 'rojak' language.
