Praying for safety & security and early re-appearance of Hazrat Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is one of our most important duties in the period of occultation (Ghaibat).

Not only is it a sign of our love and attachment with him but continuously praying for our beloved Imam (a.s.) with sincerity can hasten his re-appearance.

Numerous traditions emphasize the need and importance of praying for Imam Mahdi (a.s.). We present here two traditions, as examples.

1. Exhortation to pray for early re-appearance from Imam Mahdi (a.s.) himself
Imam Mahdi (a.s.) wrote in one of his Tauqee, “and pray for the reappearance because in it lies your salvation”.
(Al-Ihtijaaj, Vol. 2, pg. 284)

2. For Safety of Ones Faith
Imam Hasan Askari (a.s.) cautioned, “None shall remain safe from destruction (in the last times), except whom Allah has kept steadfast in the belief of His Imams and whom He gives the divine grace (taufeeq) to pray for early reappearance (of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).

One of the most important and often recited dua related to Imam Mahdi (a.s.) is Dua e Faraj e Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). It is recommended to recite this dua not only in every Qunoot of our daily prayers but to recite it as much as possible.

In this dua, we pray to Allah, the Almighty for safety and security of Imame Zaman (a.s.) at this hour and every hour. Let us endeavor to recite this dua once every hour in our daily lives for the time that we are awake, with a hope that this regular recitation of Dua e Faraj makes us more attentive towards Imame Zaman (as), our responsibilities towards him and to attract his special grace.

This reward of the regular recitation can be presented as a gift to Janabe Zahra (s.a.), again with a hope to bring a smile on her face.

May the Almighty give us Taufeeq to pray for Imame Zaman (a.s.) as much as possible and always be attentive towards him.
