Multi Shimmer Sync is an application which allows for the configuration of and synchronised data capture from multiple Shimmers. The application is ideal for users looking to develop applications where simultaneous data capture from a number of units is required. Multi Shimmer Sync permits the user to configure multiple Shimmer units, can be used with Shimmer’s full range of sensing modules. With a range of features and data capture tools users can select sampling rate, detect and notify of dropped packets, save and load application settings for future use, annotate data, and name Shimmer units to ensure functionality, efficiency, and ease of use in data capture.

The application is limited to use with 7 Shimmers as this is the upper limit for Bluetooth radio communication with a single radio dongle. However the number of Shimmers which can be used without data loss depends on a number of factors such as the sampling rate, the number of data signals being captured and the processing capabilities of the Android device. The evaluation version provides full logging functionality when used with a single Shimmer device. When used with multiple Shimmer devices, dummy values will be inserted randomly into the log file.
