Basic Usage of "Voice Diary"
"Voice Diary" is incredibly simple to use. With just a few easy steps, you can start your own personal diary in no time.

Step 1: Let's Record a Diary (Basic Operation)
Start Recording
Tap the microphone icon "Record Diary" in the center of the tab bar at the bottom of the screen.

Recording with a Dialog
A pop-up dialog will appear at the top of the screen. This is where you record your diary entry.

Check and Change the Date: Today's date is automatically entered initially. If you want to record a diary entry from the past, tap the displayed date. A calendar will appear, allowing you to select a date.

Dictation: Tap the large microphone button in the center once to begin recording. You'll hear a beep when your smartphone is ready, so speak slowly and at your own pace. You can pause and think as you speak without interrupting the recording. When you're done speaking, tap the same button again to stop recording. Your spoken words will be automatically converted into text.

Manual Corrections: If the conversion is slightly incorrect, you can always correct it using the keyboard.

Save and Cancel: Press the "Save As" button to save your diary entry and close the dialog. Pressing "Cancel" will close the dialog box without saving your entries.

Step 2: Reread Your Diary (List and Calendar)
You can enjoy looking back at your diary entries in two ways.

Looking Back on the "List" Screen
Selecting the "List" tab at the bottom displays your diary entries in reverse chronological order. As you scroll, monthly divisions (e.g., "June 2025") are fixed at the top of the screen, so you can always see which month it is.

Looking Back on the "Calendar" Screen
Selecting the "Calendar" tab at the bottom displays a brightly colored circle marking each day you wrote a diary entry. Tapping a date will display the entries you wrote that day in a list below, and you can tap again to read the details. You can also instantly jump to the desired year or month by tapping the year and month.

Step 3: Deepen Your Memories (Details Screen Function)
Select a diary entry from the list or calendar and tap to open the diary details screen.

Book-like Design: The eye-friendly cream background and book-like Mincho font allow you to immerse yourself in the world of your diary. The first line of the main text is displayed prominently as the "title," allowing you to see the contents of your diary at a glance.

Reunite with Past Memories: The charm of this screen lies at the bottom of the page. "Past Memories of the Same Day" automatically displays entries written on the same day one, two, or three years ago. Enjoy an unexpected reunion with your older self.

Edit and Delete: You can edit this diary entry at any time by clicking the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Clicking the trash can icon will display a confirmation message and then delete the entry.

Step 4: Customize to Your Preferences (Settings Screen)
Selecting "Settings" from the bottom tab provides features for even more convenient use of the app.

Switch Display Layout: You can choose between two display styles for the "List Screen": "Standard" and "Compact." "Standard" displays photos and a portion of the main text, while "Compact" displays only the date and title. Switch between the two layouts to suit your preferences.

Backup and Restore: This feature helps protect your precious diary entries. Click "Create a Backup" to export all of your diary entries as a single file. If you save this file to Google Drive or other storage, you can easily transfer your diary entries even if you change your smartphone by selecting "Restore from File."
