Mir Maftoon (born 1962 in Badakhshan) is a Tajik singer and musician from Afghanistan. His specialized instruments are the dumbura, the harmonium and the cymbal. In his songs, he combines different styles of music from Badakhshan and northern Afghanistan. In the West, the fascinated is mostly known as a musician, but in Afghanistan he is also known as a singer.
