KIA stands for Child Identity Card. This card is the official identity of children who are less than 17 years old and unmarried. MCH is issued by the Office of Occupation and Civil Registry or Disdukcapil. After a child is born, apart from having to take care of a birth certificate, MCH is also required.
MCH aims to improve data collection, protection, and public services. There are two types of MCH, namely for children aged 0 to 5 years and the age group 5-17 years. The difference is, for KIA 0-5 years without using a photo. While KIA aged 5-17 years less than one day using a photo.
MCH will apply from birth until the time when the child is obliged to have an ID card. KIA also makes it easier for children to be able to access public services independently. The benefits and objectives of making KIA include the following:
• MCH is intended as an effort to fulfill children's rights.
• MCH can be used for school registration requirements.
• MCH can also be used as proof of the child's identity as identity data when opening a savings account or saving at a bank.
• KIA also applies to the BPJS registration process.
• KIA simplifies the process of making immigration documents.
• And what is equally important is that MCH is useful for preventing child trafficking.
