Al-Anbiya
Surat al-Anbiya is the twenty-first surah in the Qur’an, and it is one of the last surahs that were revealed before the Hijrah, and its verses are twelve and a hundred, and it is Meccan by consensus.

Why is Surat Al-Anbiya given this name?
The predecessor called it Surat al-Anbiya, in Sahih al-Bukhari, on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, who said: “The Children of Israel - Al-Israa-, the Cave, Maryam, Taha, and the Prophets, they are among the first liberties, and they are my descendants.” And the reason for calling it by this name, He mentioned the names of sixteen prophets and the Lady Mary in them, and this number of the names of the prophets was not mentioned in one of the Surahs of the Qur’an except Surat Al-An’am, where eighteen prophets were mentioned in it. It was preceded by the name in addition to the prophets. Otherwise, the specialization of Surat (Al-An’am) by mentioning the provisions of Al-An’am necessitated naming it by that name, so Surat Al-Anbiya was more deserving of this name than the rest of the Surahs of the Qur’an, given that it is a recognized fact that the name does not necessitate it.
