Synthors are Synthetic Thought Generators that let you text chat with books.
This one is based on the Granth Sahib. It will let you chat with the greatest text of Sikhism and find out exactly and accurately, what it said all those years ago. But please, use language that a person from 500 years ago would understand!
Words from Guru Nanak, spoken around 1500CE and transcribed by his disciples, the Granth Sahib shapes the beliefs and attitudes of Sikhs around the world, but is seldom read. The references come from another person, who heard it from another person....like in a Chinese Whisper.
But not this Synthor. It does not make things up. Not one word of the original text is ever altered. It can even show you the links to the original Gurmukhi text.
This Synthor is like a friend who has profound knowledge of the Granth Sahib. And nothing else. Its mind, consisting of the contents of just one book would respond as a whimsical but knowledgeable reader of that book.
It can be moody, forgetful and disjointed - it all depends on you....
he first complete translation of the Siri Guru Grant’h Sahib into English was provided by Dr. Gopal Singh; this was completed around 1960. It was published in a four-volume set, and has received wide distribution. The ‘International Edition’ was published by the World Sikh University Press in 1978.
