The app aims to showcase the work of women painters throughout history — from the 1400s to the late 19th century. It is richly illustrated and features a number of well-known and lesser-known female artists and their work.

It includes not only biographies, but also art analyses and socio-historical notes, reflecting on the challenges women artists faced in a male-dominated art world.
