The Patta includes the Patta number, name of the district, taluk and village, name of the owner, survey number and subdivision, wetland/dryland, area of land and tax details. While Chita is a land revenue document contains details about the area, size, ownership of the property.

⚫ Can we sell land without patta in Tamil Nadu?
If all the other documents are in your name, including the sale deed, individual patta in your name is absolutely not necessary. However, your name should find a place in the joint patta in respect of that survey No., for the purpose of registration of the proposed sale deed.
