First, the id prayer is preceded by the intention if
pronounced it will say "ushallî rak‘ataini
sunnata li ‘îdil fithri". Plus "imâman"
if you become a priest, and "makmman"
if it becomes makmum.

أُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ سُنَّةً لعِيْدِ اْلفِطْرِ (مَأْمُوْمًا \ إِمَامًا) لِلهِ تَعَــــالَى

Meaning: "I intend to pray sunnah
Eid al-Fitr two rak'ahs (becoming a makmum / imam)
because of Allah ta'ala. "

The law of reciting this intention is sunnah.
What is mandatory is to have conscious intentions
and intentionally inside that someone
will perform the Eid prayer.
Previously prayer began without adzan and iqamah
