On August 24, 1984, the Floresta Biblical Baptist Temple was founded. God brought from the USA the missionary Henry Ritchard Mantonya and his wife Nancy Evelyn Mantonya, who together with a Brazilian couple Antônio Marques and Maria Marques started this work.

Antônio Marques entered the Instituto Bíblico, completed the course and was ordained to the pastoral ministry, becoming the first pastor of the church.

On June 23, 2012, the staff is passed to the then Pr. Rafael Oliveira.
