World Obesity Federation represents professional members of the scientific, medical and research communities from over 50 regional and national obesity associations. Through our membership we create a global community of organisations dedicated to solving the problems of obesity. Our mission is to lead and drive global efforts to reduce, prevent and treat obesity.
There are several ways we work with our member organisations as well as other professional bodies. These range from roundtables we convene to discuss policy, advocacy training for patients, educational training for healthcare professionals and communication campaigns to amplify the work we are doing to a wider audience – to name a few.
We advocate with governments, international and national health bodies, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders around the world to change the narrative around obesity and achieve the political recognition which it deserves.
Training and events also form a large part of our work. Not only do we run online and in-person training under the SCOPE initiative, we also host and attend events across the globe, ensuring we keep current with regional trends and have the opportunity to meet many of our members and collaborators in person.
