The HUT is inspired by the "Palava Hut". Traditionally, in Liberia and many other countries in West Africa, the "Palava Hut" is a communal meeting place where people gather to discuss important issues, resources and opportunities that impact the community. Likewise, The Hut is an app that allows users to connect and learn about community announcements, recent news, local events, volunteering opportunities and much more. Just like the Liberian Palava Hut, this app provides a forum for avid discussion and sharing of information, resources, and experiences that are relevant and meaningful for those who are willing to engage.

The Hut : Community Hub is managed by Legacy International Foundation for Education (LIFE), a non-profit developed to improve the quality of life for young people and families living in low income, under-resourced and underdeveloped communities. The HUT serves as a platform that helps individuals, community leaders, churches, businesses and organizations in connecting and maximizing their reach to the larger community.
