XIRR stands for Extended Internal Rate of Return. It is that discount rate which when applied to a set of positive and negative cash flows occurring at irregular intervals gives a net present value of zero.
In most investment schemes the investments and withdrawals of the gains occur at irregular periods so the accurate investment performance cannot be easily measured using IRR or CAGR calculators. These are generally calculated on spreadsheets like MS Excel which have built-in XIRR function. This app will enable your smartphone to calculate XIRR quickly and save you from opening a spreadsheet for a quick calculation.
